    HONOLULU – The Hawaiʻi Department of Health (DOH) has identified one probable case of monkeypox in a Hawaiʻi resident.

    The individual is an adult Oʻahu resident and is currently hospitalized in stable condition. The individual presented with symptoms consistent with monkeypox and recently traveled to an area with confirmed cases.

    Testing completed by the State Laboratories Division detected orthopoxvirus—monkeypox is a type of orthopoxvirus. Confirmatory testing will be performed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) next week...

    HONOLULU, Hawaii (KITV) — A possible case of Monkeypox is being investigated at Tripler Army Medical Center, hospital officials confirm.

    The patient was admitted to the hospital this week and that person has been isolated and is in stable condition, according to hospital officials.

    Since identifying the possible monkeypox case, Tripler says it has been contact with the Hawaii State Department of Health (DOH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as other health agencies...

      Military patient being treated for probable monkeypox in Hawaii

      Officials at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii have confirmed that they are treating a military beneficiary for probable monkeypox.

      The patient, who was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday, is in stable condition, in isolation and is recovering, said Claudia LaMantia, a spokeswoman for the hospital. Officials are waiting for results of tests from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which should be available next week, she said.

      Contact tracing is underway for hospital staff and patients who may have been exposed, she said.

          The individual presented with symptoms consistent with monkeypox. Testing completed by the State Laboratories Division detected orthopoxvirus—monkeypox is a type of orthopoxvirus.

          Yesterday, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed that the first case reported on June 3 tested positive for monkeypox. Confirmatory testing for the second and third cases is pending with the CDC...

            The Hawaiʻi Department of Health has identified two additional probable case of monkeypox in Oʻahu residents, bringing the total number of cases in the state to five (two confirmed and three probable). DOH has identified connections between all five people.

            “The risk to most Hawaiʻi residents remains low,” said Deputy State Epidemiologist Dr. Nathan Tan. “Anyone who has close contact with someone with monkeypox is at risk of infection — regardless of who they are, what they do, or if they are sexually active.”

            DOH continues to conduct contact tracing and coordinate vaccination and treatment, which can be effective in controlling monkeypox infection...

              HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The CDC confirmed Hawaii’s monkeypox case count stands at five.

              Three of the previously reported cases were classified as probable until the CDC confirmed they were in fact monkeypox infections Thursday.

              Meanwhile, the state Health Department previously said it identified “connections” among all five people. A spokesperson said at least one case “was connected a social gathering,” thought details on the event were not provided

                    HONOLULU – The Hawaiʻi Department of Health (DOH) has identified three additional cases of monkeypox. This brings the total number of cases in Hawaiʻi to eleven.

                    Two individuals are Oʻahu residents. DOH established a connection to a previously reported case for one Oʻahu resident. Connections to previously reported cases are under investigation for the second Oʻahu resident. The third individual is a non-resident who was diagnosed on Kauaʻi and whose case is associated with travel outside of Hawaiʻi.

                    “Monkeypox cases continue to increase across the country—and we expect to see more cases in Hawaiʻi,” said Deputy State Epidemiologist Dr. Nathan Tan. “We continue to take action to support individuals diagnosed with monkeypox, conduct contact tracing, vaccinate close contacts and those with high-risk exposure, and educate the community.”...
