Perdue Announces New Health Precautions

(AP) SALISBURY, Md. Perdue has increased health precautions at company chicken farms.

About 650 chicken farms on Eastern Shore now have a stop sign along their driveways.

The signs prohibit people from entering the property without permission.

All the signs have mail boxes which contain visitor logs.

Perdue spokeswoman Julie DeYoung says the logs help keep track of every person who enters a farm at a point where visitors must don protective clothing.

The signs also include numbers which show the current threat level for diseases such as bird flu. http://wjz.com/local/local_story_256112120.html
