Ebola scare grounds plane in Columbia (South Carolina)
Ebola scare grounds plane in Columbia (South Carolina)
A plane from Washington DC's Dulles International Airport is currently grounded at Columbia Metropolitan Airport due to a "possible" Ebola scare, according to airport officials.
According to airport spokeswoman Kaela Harmon, emergency crews are currently responding to the plane, which is a United flight.
Harmon says a male passenger had nose bleed symptoms and is being removed from the plane.
"We are in this breathing space before it happens. We do not know how long that breathing space is going to be. But, if we are not all organizing ourselves to get ready and to take action to prepare for a pandemic, then we are squandering an opportunity for our human security"- Dr. David Nabarro

Another source.
passenger had a reported nosebleed, and the plane was being held on the ramp Friday morning, according to airport spokeswoman Kaela Harmon.
The scheduled flight was United Flight 5723. The airplane was a small commuter jet that typically holds 44-50 passengers.
The passengers will be isolated inside the airport as a precaution, Harmon said. The plane had been held on the ground for about three hours after its 9:20 a.m. scheduled touchdown.

(facepalm) what next..
"Harmon described the chance the passenger has Ebola as ?very, very low.? The passenger has NOT visited any country associated with Ebola, the airport said on a post on the social media site Twitter."
