PALM BEACH COUNTY-- A 25-year-old woman has become Palm Beach County's first swine flu fatality, health officials said today.

The state laboratory confirmed the death, bringing the state total to seven people killed by the H1N1 virus, according to the Palm Beach County Health Department.

The unidentified woman died June 27, department spokesman Tim O'Connor told the Palm Beach Post.

The health department did not say what, if any, other illnesses or health problems the woman suffered.

Most swine flu cases tend to be relatively mild and mirror the symptoms of more-common flu strains, health officials say.

"There were other circumstances involved in this," O'Connor said, declining to elaborate. "There were other things going on with this individual."

This article has a tiny bit more info on the 3 newest Texas deaths:

A state spokesperson tells us two of the deaths were in Hidalgo County. One woman was in her 30s, the other in her 40s.

The third death was reported out of Cameron County. We're told the woman was in her 30s.

Obviously the number of those that the public health officials could not attribute some pre-existing condition to has risen along with the death number. Now, according to Wotan's database the number is now at 54%.
