  • Survivor interviews - A/H1N1

I'm trying to get a good list of interviews from the survivors of A\H1N1 to give an idea of what we can expect when we fall ill.

Here is what I've got so far, please add any more as you find them.

    Rachel Mele, Age 16
[She] saw her fever break yesterday for the first time in five days. It had been hovering around 101F since the terrifying night when her parents rushed her to the hospital. "I could barely even catch my breath. I've never felt a pain like that before," Mele said. "My throat, it was burning, like, it was the worst burning sensation I ever got before. I couldn't even swallow. I couldn't even let up air. I could barely breathe through my mouth." http://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/news...0569363&pnum=2

    Ryan Windsor, Age 26
of Richmond, has been identified as the second victim in B.C. He told CBC News Tuesday that doctors told him to stay isolated in his apartment for eight days. "It's probably, definitely, the sickest I've ever been," said Windsor, who passed the isolation period. http://www.cbc.ca/health/story/2009/...s.html?ref=rss

    Aaron Goins, Age 16
"I couldn't even touch my son he was so hot. I couldn't pick him up. His muscles were seizing up on him. He couldn't move. He had a fever of 102. He was throwing up, and diarrhoea. He screamed out when I touched him. My wife was freaking out. I thought I was going to lose my son. It's the hardest thing in the world." At that point Goins, the director of an arts foundation in California, called an ambulance. http://www.u.tv/News/Father-marvels-...7-27770ee698d1

    Derek von Sturmer, Age 26
Currently living in Mexico City, was rushed to hospital last Saturday after what seemed to be the "normal" flu left him gasping for air, bedridden and with a scorching temperature of 40C. "It just felt like I was on fire," he said. "It was incredible - I couldn't even see because of the heat. I was in complete agony." http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/ar...ectid=10569205

    Stephanie Frobin, Age 14
    Dana Decristofaro, Age 14
?I almost lost it on Sunday morning when Stephanie nearly passed out,? Gabriele Frobin said. ?She must have gotten dehydrated overnight, but after we gave her some juice she was better.? ?It really knocked my daughter out. I?ve never been so scared in my life,? she said. ?Her temperature was over 102 so I took her because of the bad fever and because she felt horrible,? Decristofaro said. ?She?s feeling a lot better now.? Dana said she knew she had to get checked out at the hospital because ?my back, neck and shoulders hurt so badly and I wanted to sleep forever.?

Sure doesn't sound like the "mild" flu that the media has been describing.

That's the best answer to the minimizators which public downplaying declarations are going to put much more people infected worldwide, instead of one real situation news release.
