Thrombosis a side effect of the AstraZeneca vaccination? If so, it would be entirely plausible that this would be noticed first in Germany.

Particular thrombosis
Are they a side effect of the AstraZeneca vaccination? If so, it would be entirely plausible that this would be noticed first in Germany.
Interesting article, proposing that since the rare cerebral blood-clotting disorder typically affects those aged 20 to 50, a yet unproven link to the AstraZeneca vaccine would show up earlier in Germany, where it was initially only used on the under-65s.
I couldn't read the article but the numbers I've seen for Germany are about 7-8 cases of the brain vein clot, fatal in three and 1,600,000 doses given. In the UK I read there were 3 cases with 11,000,000 doses given. (Correct me if the numbers are off.) So maybe the risk is higher in under 50's.
There's some talk that politics and business competition are behind worries about this vaccine. I think that is possible.
