Mexico - Changes to New World Screwworm reporting on WOAH reports is completely unacceptable - imminent threat to humans, domestic & livestock animals

I am not sure what is going on. This phrase is now appearing on the WOAH reports of New World Screwworm:

What? This worm is a direct threat to humans and animals (both domestic & livestock).

I do not know if WOAH has instituted the new monthly reporting protocol, or it is Mexico. Either way....this is completely unacceptable.

It is probably no coincidence that the US closed its border to Mexico for animal transport on June 30, 2025: USDA Announces the Phased Reopening of Southern Ports (Mexico) for Livestock Trade - Closed due to New World Screwworm

The new monthly reporting program will put human health and food supply at risk - not to mention our furry family members.

If the Mexico government is responsible for this change - shame on you.

Cochliomyia hominivorax

Gracias a Pathfinder.

fyi - The US produces about 20% of the world's total beef supply. So a threat to this food source is a global threat. Not just the US.
