Representatives of the medical use that as an argument for extending vaccination to all
The boards of the Paran? Medical Association (PMA) and the Regional Medical Council in the State (CRMPR) sent on Tuesday (11) two legal measures that require the vaccination of the entire population Parana against influenza virus A. The representatives dispute the wording of the priority groups defined by the federal government showing that in the first quarter of this year, five of the seven deaths caused by influenza A in the state were excluded from the age of free vaccination, two victims had 0-4 years and three between 5 and 19 years.
"We send technical justifications that show the need to extend the vaccine to Paran? as numbers that show the status as world champion of deaths in proportion to the population," argues the president of AMP, Dr. Jos? Fernando Macedo. He said a significant number of people who were left out of government priority as children and schoolchildren and workers in medical offices, as secretaries, who are in contact with patients, but were not vaccinated because they are not health professionals .
The President of CRMPR, Dr. Michael Hanna Ibrahim Abboud Sobrinho, understand how contradictory not to vaccinate students who last year had to drop classes to avoid further contamination. "Bodies Health officials of the United States indicate that people aged between six months and 24 years should be vaccinated with priority and not until 24 months as in Brazil," he argues.
For both, the virus contamination should increase from now, when temperatures began to fall and winter is approaching. "In terms of a harsh winter, the trend is that this second wave of influenza A is worse to come stronger than the first," says Macedo.
Notifications sent by the authorities, the first aimed at the State Department of Health (SESA), sought the engagement of the body by fighting vaccination throughout the Paran? and the other is an action that joins the prosecution of Parana, against Ministry of Health and the State of Paran?, with the same purpose.
The SESA informed via the press office who has not received the notification and who is responsible only for delivery of vaccines. He also said he would like that vaccination be made in the entire population, but that depends on the decision of the federal MP to take action.
On April 12 the 2nd Federal Court of Curitiba has issued an injunction that determined the vaccination to all residents of Parana, but on May 3rd, the chairman of the Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region, Judge Vilson Daros stayed the injunction arguing that the determination was endangering the policies formulated to prevent the disease in Brazil.
