Between 1.5 thousand and 2 thousand people may be infected with influenza A in the state. The estimate is from the State Department of Health Under Secretary, Osmar Terra, but the disease progresses rapidly, in most cases admission and waiver can be treated at home.
Land cited the case of Vila Nova do Sul, in the Central Region, to show that the advance of new flu, although fast, can be overcome. In the city, he said, there was a small outbreak, with 266 of about 4 thousand people infected. It was unnecessary, however, any admission - all patients recovered in their homes.
