As deconfinement began on May 11, new cases of Covid-19 have been detected. There are 7. These 7 new cases come mainly from the municipality of Saint-Georges de l'Oyapock, a border town with Brazil. 27 Covid-19 patients are now listed in this eastern region. Many tests have been carried out in recent days at Saint-Georges de l'Oyapock and Grand-Santi.

This makes 153 people who have been infected by the coronavirus in total for the region, 10 patients are hospitalized, no new patients cured and one death in April. 14 people, mainly from Grand-Santi, are staying in a dedicated containment center, which they should leave on Wednesday.

Unsurprisingly, the location of these new cases is Saint-Georges de l'Oyapock, which has 59 cases this evening (since March 17).
The overall positivity rate on the French side of the border with Brazil is 30% while it is only 8% in the rest of the territory.

Guyana now lists 189 people who have been infected since the start of the epidemic.
