Posted 41 minutes ago The New South Wales Chief Medical Officer says the swine flu vaccine being rolled out across the state next week will still be effective next flu season. Two million doses of a new swine flu vaccine will be available in New South Wales for free from next Wednesday.
The Therapeutic Goods Administration has declared the vaccine is safe for pregnant women, and will reassess whether children under 10 should be eligible.
Chief Medical Officer Doctor Kerry Chant says it should protect people for the remainder of this flu season, and next year.
"The advice we have is that the virus has remained fairly constant," she said. "So there's no reason to believe that this vaccine will not protect against the pandemic strain that may be circulating into next year."http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2...23/2694233.htm
