H1N1 is a subtype of Influenza type A influenza virus. Since mid-March 2009, at least 900 fatalities have occurred in Europe and America for the pandemic, another hundred deaths in Mexico are not yet officially confirmed as cases of influenza A/H1N1

From the point of view of an epidemiologist at the Ministry of Health, Alfredo Rodr?guez Trujillo, is at risk of H1N1 cases arising in the State, the Federation is considering sending an early warning in the states where the disease has been presented and in the northern states.

"The Federation has not issued an alert because the situation is focused in some places but it is a real increase in confirmed cases in states such as Campeche, Oaxaca, Chihuahua and Nuevo Leon."

In Tamaulipas no confirmed cases of H1N1 since August 2010, after the pandemic of influenza infected two thousand five hundred Tamaulipas and killed 17 others, from April to December 2009.
Since then, the H1N1 influenza virus is one of the commonly circulating endemic during the cold season.

Dr. Rodriguez Trujillo reported, however, that since late last year to date have analyzed thousand samples suspected of H1N1 in the State Laboratory of Public Health and all were negative.

He made it clear that you should not let our guard down because even though the virus is of low pathogenicity are vulnerable groups who may be affected because they suffer from concomitant diseases such as diabetes, obesity and hypertension, among others.

The SST epidemiologist denied that the virus has mutated, "there is no scientific evidence and which is currently circulating in these states is the same one that caused the pandemic in 2009."
Alfredo Rodriguez said that at the moment is not considered deliver vaccines against this disease because the risk is not serious, but if the incidence is increasing "surely the Federation would consider this strategy."

In Tamaulipas were applied almost 300 thousand shots to high risk groups at the end of 2009 and part of 2010: "70 percent of the population is protected or immune to viruses just because you encounter it."

Areas such as health promotion, health regulation, health care will intensify prevention efforts.

OSH is also considering resuming surveillance measures at points of entry to the State and establish a health fence in order to identify possible cases of influenza and prevent its spread
