Re: Jalisco: Cases
There is decrease of A H1N1 and dengue in Jalisco: Federal Health
GUADALAJARA, JALISCO .- Federal Health Secretary Jose Angel Cordova Villalobos, visited Guadalajara yesterday for a meeting with the State Board of Health Safety (CESS) in Casa Jalisco.
He said both dengue and human influenza, the two epidemics that hit the state of Jalisco in 2009, are controlled.
"We have confirmed, because we have information flowing in a prompt and Jalisco to the federation, the decline in both cases."
However, in Jalisco dengue cases continue to emerge and so far has not cut HIV transmission, because there have been more than 200 infections so far this year.
On the other hand, said the federal Health Secretariat (SSA) will continue in struggle to prevent more laboratories try to extend their patents, which is already in a legal process.
"In Mexico there is the patent for 20 years from the time the registration becomes (...) we are in the legal analysis of what opportunities there to contain it, because it seems quite unfair."
He assured that the unit will "engrossed" in defending the generic drugs, and some favor is that there are many molecules to protect the patent. However, Mexico will continue to boost the generics market.
On another issue, Cordova Villalobos said the regulations of the Law to Protect Nonsmokers exists, so that each state should make enforcement in its territory and, if not met, the offending establishments may be sanctioned.
