UG maintains influenza virus alert

Brenda Finch, director of the Medical Network of the University of Guanajuato (UG), said they've kept some precautionary measures for the human influenza virus H1N1, although the Health Ministry lifted the alert.
He said that ever since last year to date, recorded about 30 cases statewide where the AU is present, but would not delve into them.
"We think our preventive measures are measures that should stay: our frequent hand hygiene, avoiding exposure to sick people.
"Obviously it is the alert as last year, we were in a pandemic situation, but we must stop pretending hygiene measures," he said.
He added that this contributed to reduced transmission of the H1N1 virus, but also decreased diarrhea.
"They are also preventive measures. Education about these hygiene measures should continue to think, "he said.
