Can you please point me to the original PDF of this brief? The link above no longer works. I want to make a JPG image of the symptom chart. Is this the only location in which the CDC published the percentage frequency of symptoms? I'm really annoyed that this information seems to be so difficult to find.

There is a "Is it Swine Flu or Regular Flu?" blog post that is making the rounds on twitter, and this person was seriously misinformed by a medical professional and assumes her kid doesn't have swine flu because of that misinformation. She was told that since her kid doesn't have a sore throat, he doesn't have swine flu. The frequency of sore throat in the CDC's chart is 30% !!!

On the CDC's website for the public, their information on symptoms could easily lead people to assume they don't have it if they don't have all the symptoms listed:

The symptoms of novel H1N1 flu virus in people are similar to the symptoms of seasonal flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. A significant number of people who have been infected with this virus also have reported diarrhea and vomiting. Also, like seasonal flu, severe illnesses and death has occurred as a result of illness associated with this virus.

I find this poor communication SO frustrating!!

Thank you, that worked. I don't suppose anyone knows what the asterisk next to "Fever" in the symptoms table (page 14) means? It's the only asterisk in the whole document that is left unexplained (no corresponding footnote).
