Masyarakat Desa Jekani, Mondokan, Sragen menyambut baik hasil pemeriksaan laboratorium Dinas Kesehatan (Dinkes) Jawa Tengah yang menyatakan bahwa kematian salah seorang warga mereka, Idawati, 22, bukan karena terkena virus avian influenza (AI).
Sebelumnya, mereka sempat khawatir kematian almarhum akibat flu burung. Sekretaris Desa (Sekdes) Jekani, Gimin, menyatakan pihaknya mengetahui hasil laboratorium itu dari petugas Puskesmas Mondokan, Rabu (15/10). Meski demikian, belum seluruh penduduk mengetahuinya. Secara bertahap, pihaknya akan mensosialisasikan hasil laboratorium tersebut. ?Melalui pertemuan-pertemuan warga, hajatan, pengajian, yasinan dan berbagai forum lainnya. Hasil laboratorium ini kabar baik sesuai harapan kami sebelumnya,? jelasnya kepada Espos, Kamis (16/10), di kantornya.
Hal senada juga disampaikan Kepala Kebayan I Jekani, Partomo. Dirinya menyambut baik hasil pemeriksaan laboratorium tersebut. Namun dia mengaku belum tahu penyebab persis kematian almarhum. Karena terbukti negatif, pihaknya mengimbau masyarakat tidak khawatir lagi. Sebelumnya, perasaan waswas sempat menghantui warga Jekani akibat mencuatnya dugaan flu burung di desa itu. Terlebih Dinas Peternakan dan Perikanan Sragen menemukan bangkai ayam di sekitar rumah almarhumah.
Meski dinyatakan bukan karena AI, Partomo mengingatkan warga agar tetap waspada melalui peningkatan pola hidup sehat. Sejauh ini, belum ada perubahan kebijakan dari Dinas Peternakan dan Perikanan Sragen yang meminta warga mengandangkan unggasnya. Karena itu, Pemerintahan Desa (Pemdes) Jekani mengimbau warga tetap mematuhi kebijakan Pemkab itu. ?Sampai sekarang, warga masih mengandangkan unggasnya. Ini lebih untuk menjaga keamanan.
