It seems that Alif Tri Anggoro Putro is now again being considered a possible victim of bird flu (See posts # 15, 26, and 28)

The step was taken as early vigilance efforts following the death of Alif Tri Anggoro Putro, 17, the resident Kedungringin, Soko, that was indicated resulting from bird flu or avian influenza (AI).

The co-ordinator the health Command Post of the control of dengue fever dengue fever (DBD) and bird flu, Suramin, said the increase in the two command posts was related the threat spread him the bird flu virus from Kedungringin, Soko.

The increase in the two command posts his characteristics only were on the alert.
If later the assumption of the bird flu will be true, we were kept continuing the activity in each one the Command Post then.

On the other hand, if results were stated by the negative, at least we have tried to anticipate further, obviously him when being met Expose, on Wednesday (13/2), in the health Command Post of the Soko Village.

Till at this time his characteristics still the assumption.
So, the bird flu threat was not yet positive.
Lagian, results of the sample of poultry blood that was sent to the Besar Veteriner Hall (BBVet) the big possibility of just us receiving three until five days came, he stated.

    Resah
Sejak the founding of the Command Post of bird flu vigilance was in Kedungringin Soko Miri made function, himself found several chickens belonging to the resident who died suddenly.

Chickens that died this his whole was stated by the affected negative bird flu.
Until this, the number of chickens died that was found by us around five tails.

But, the cause of his death not came from the bird flu virus, but indeed the condition for this chicken that was more unhealthy, he stressed.
In the meantime the threat spread him the bird flu virus in Kedungringin, Soko, Miri, began to make the resident around restless.

His article, the new incident the first time was experienced by hundreds of residents took place suddenly.
Moreover, right before the Alif death, the area that shared a border with the Pendem Village, Sumberlawang has gotten spraying totalling one time.

Indonesian girl contracts bird flu in new family cluster: WHO

        2008-02-13 19:34:27 -

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) - The daughter of an Indonesian women who tested positive for bird flu has also contracted the virus, the World Health Organization said Wednesday, in what could be a case of human-to-human transmission.
The 14-year-old girl was in critical condition at a Jakarta hospital, the WHO said on its Web site. The girl's 38-year-old mother has been hospitalized with the bird flu virus since Jan. 26.
?She was exposed to her sick mother... and spent time in a neighborhood where chickens and other birds were found,? the WHO statement said, adding the source of infection was still under investigation.
Further tests were being conducted to establish whether the daughter contracted the virus from contact with her mother or from an infected chicken or its droppings _ the source of most of Indonesia's 103 fatal cases, said senior Health Ministry official Nyoman Kandun.
?It is a cluster, but so far there is no strong evidence of human-to-human transmission,? said Kandun.
Cases of possible human-to-human transmission are watched closely because they increase the chance of the virus mutating into a form that is easily passed between humans, which could possibly trigger a global pandemic.
The World Health Organization said the virus passed between humans, although in a limited way, in one large cluster of cases in a single family on Indonesia's Sumatra Island in 2006.
<!--APPIC-->The H5N1 strain of bird flu has killed at least 226 people worldwide since it started ravaging poultry stocks in Asia five years ago, according to WHO.

Bird flu kills 16-year-old boy in Indonesia, bringing nation's toll from illness to 104

The Associated PressPublished: February 16, 2008

JAKARTA, Indonesia: A 16-year-old Indonesian boy from Central Java province has died of bird flu, bringing the nation's death toll from the illness to 104, the Health Ministry said Saturday.

The boy became ill on Feb. 3 with a cough and other respiratory symptoms, according to the Health Ministry's Web site.

He died a week later in a hospital in the city of Solo, about 450 kilometers (280 miles) southeast of the capital, Jakarta, said Sumardi, a ministry spokesman. Like he many Indonesians, he goes by one name.

Tests confirmed the boy had been infected with the dangerous H5N1 strain of the bird flu virus, the ministry's Web site said.

The victim's neighbors had sick chickens on their property and the boy apparently slaughtered some of them before he became ill, the ministry said.

Indonesia has regularly recorded human deaths from bird flu since the virus began ravaging poultry stocks across Asia in 2003.

Bird flu remains hard for people to catch, but health experts worry the virus could mutate into a form that passes easily among humans, sparking a pandemic. So far, most human cases have been linked to contact with infected birds.

Scientists have warned that Indonesia, which has millions of backyard chickens and poor medical facilities, is a potential hot spot for a global bird flu pandemic.

At least 227 people have died worldwide from the virus, according to the World Health Organization's Web site.

Indonesian boy dies from bird flu

                              + - 17:18, February 16, 2008

A 16 year-old Indonesian boy from Central Java province has died from avian influenza, put the total fatalities to 104 out of 128 contracted people in the hardest-hit country, the Indonesian Health Ministry said on Saturday.

The boy died on Feb. 10 at a hospital in the province and the result of examination on his blood samples came out on Friday, showing that he was contracted by the H5N1 virus, said the ministry spokesperson Lily Sriwahyuni Sulistyowati.

"He died on Sunday and both of laboratory tests of his blood samples showed positive on Friday," she told Xinhua.

The boy had historical contact with fowl at his residence, as scores of chickens belonging to him and his neighbors were sick and some of them suddenly died before he first showed initial symptoms of the disease on Feb. 3, said Sulistyowati.

"The boy slaughtered the rest of sick chickens," she said.

Contact with fowl is a common cause of the bird flu fatality in Indonesia.

After the first symptoms of the disease were shown on Feb. 3, such as fever, respiratory problem, cough, the boy went to a traditional midwife in a village, then six days later he was admitted to Moewardi hospital in Solo town, said Sulistyowati.

Experts have blamed improper initial medical treatment as one of the main cause of the highest fatality rates in Indonesia.

The boy died one day after admitted to the hospital in the province, said the spokesperson.

Indonesia, the world's fourth most populous country and home to millions of backyard chickens, is considered a possible hot spot for spreading the disease, although the country has culled millions of chickens and pigs.

Indonesia has been at the front row in fighting to combat the spreading of highly pathogenic H5N1 viruses, which have slowly and persistently spread on human.

Indonesia has grappled with major problem on its effort to stop the spread of the virus spread, including huge territory, traditional way of rising chickens on back yard and lack of obedience of provincial administration.
