Someone (and I can not now find the post so I do not know who to give the 'hat tip' to) posted a link to this blog. Chad is an American freelance radio reporter based in Jakarta who also blogs and his posts make interesting reading as they throw light on what real life is like on the ground. This back ground information is useful in putting other news reports into context.

The link below is to a report of his filed with 'The World' news program in Boston. It is about five minutes in length and describes a culling, and some interviews with Indo, FAO & WHO officials.

Thanks both F1 & T42 (Mind you I should have guessed it would have been Theresa)

Chad is in contact with other foreign correspondence, WHO, FAO & Indonesian officials and seems genuinly receptive to questions which he could consider and prehaps ask. Obviously he may be less helpful if we swamp him.
