    34 subdistricts plagued by dengue fever

    Thirty four of 50 subdistricts in the provincial capital of Gorontalo City have been declared as dengue-fever endemic areas following continuous reports of the disease.

    A total of 11 cases have been recorded in the city, with one, a 7-year-old boy, dead. Last year, the city recorded 98 cases with three deaths...

    The Pekanbaru Health Agency has seen a worrying number of dengue fever cases, recording a total of 83 in January alone, compared to 42 cases throughout 2014.

    Agency chief Helda S. Munir said that cases were reported at all 12 district health centers in the city...

      ...?We recorded 265 dengue fever cases throughout January, with one dead patient. We now all need to stay alert because we are going to enter the peak of the rainy season,? he said as quoted by Antara news agency on Saturday.

      The peak is predicted to fall between the end of this month and March.

      According to the agency?s data, there were 865 dengue fever cases in January last year, the figure rising to 1,067 and 1,476 cases in February and March, respectively. (nfo)

        Greater Jakarta: 343 suffer dengue in South Jakarta

        Dengue fever continues to spread in South Jakarta, the latest data shows.

        South Jakarta Health Agency found that at least 343 people came down with the illness between January and March 12 in South Jakarta.

        Based on the agency?s data, Jagakarsa was the district with the greatest number of people who caught dengue out of 10 districts in South Jakarta with 57 cases, followed by Cilandak with 41 cases, Pasar Minggu with 37 and Pancoran, also 37.

        The agency head Yudita Endah said Sunday there was a substantial decrease in the number of dengue patients compared to the same period last year...
