    JAMMU AND KASHMIR
    KUPWARA
    Viral Haemorragic Fever Manigah, Kupwara 130 cases 2 deaths 01/09/2012 2012-09-03 14:24:32 10000 We used standard clinical case definition of Viral Haemorragic fever (an acute febrile illness of 2-7 days duration with 2 or more of the following symptoms---Headache, Retro-orbital pain,Myalgia,Arthralgia.Rash,Haemorragic manifestation.Leucopenia) . A team consisting of a Epidemiologist, Physician,Microbiologist and, Senoir Health Inspector and support staff visited the village. All the symptomatic patients were examined by the physician and febrile patients showing signs and symptoms of the disease were put on anti pyretics(Paracetemol). We described the outbreak by time place and person. 12 blood samples were taken for IgM Serology for Dengue,Typhi Dot and Malaria card test. 2 blood samples were taken for culture and sensitivity for Salmonella typhi. 2 water samples were taken for MPN Count. Results awaited. Symptomatic treatment was given to the patients (Paracetemol). Health Education imparted Investigation Open
