It?s official. The death of 38-year-old Kalpana Vinod Angirwal was due to Rabies Encephalitis. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) -run Naidu Hospital has issued a certificate which states the same.

Angirwal, a resident of 35, Ghorpadi Bazaar was admitted to the hospital to be treated on June 24. A stray dog had bitten her on the premises of Lapis Lazuli Housing Society on South Main Road. On June 27, she died of rabies.

The PMC?s medical officials had then confirmed that the woman died because of the dog bite. Residents of Lapis Lazuli conducted a meeting which was attended by local corporator Babu Wagaskar, to discuss the stray dog menace in the area.
