5,000 poultry birds dead, birdflu possibility looks remote

Hisar (Haryana), Jan 24 Over 5,000 poultry birds died due to suspected water poisoning in Jind district&aposs Rajthal village as health and animal husbandary department officials said the possibility of birdflu appeared remote.
Kulwant Mor, the owner of the poultry farm where the birds were found dead early today, told the officials who visited the spot that he suspected they died due to poisoning.
Mor said he suspected that someone had mixed poison in the overhead water tank from which water for drinking purposes was supplied to the poultry birds.
The officials, who visited the spot today, took the samples for tests.
