Fire at Lampedusa's Immigration Centre - Save the Children: "We are concerned about children"

    (September 20, 2011)

A fire of large proportions broken out at the Immigration Centre in Lampedusa Island, Contrada Imbriacola.

Around 1,300 migrants have moved towards the village main square, where they are staging a protest.

There would be dozens of intoxicated.

Save the Children has immediately expressed concern for the many children who are imprisoned on the island centre.

While the mayor of Lampedusa, Bernardino De Rubeis, who recently turned to Berlusconi for urgent aid, now asks to "deport all criminals Tunisians. We no longer want a Tunisian national into the island. We are tired, they have to be transferred in the next 48 hours. "
