Please tell your superiors that we are losing tamiflu. Vaccination is the best defense now. Even if it is only partially effective, it may blunt the full force of a virulent strain. Encourage the pneumococcal vaccine. Try to get the pharmacies to stock up on basic maintenance drugs. Form an alliance with surrounding states to share basic supplies and critical personnel (you probably already have these agreements).
Also, from a tracking standpoint, it looks to me that while there is a very mild strain of H1N1 circulating, the most virulent strain of H1N1 is becoming more fit. i.e. parts of China. What does that mean for the US and the world, I do not know. I would like to have a crystal ball.
