- Affected Population: Birth to bacon unit with all pigs kept on the one premises. 340 sows, with approximately 2,900 pigs in total. First signs (coughing) appeared in 10-15 week old weaned pigs about one month ago with some deaths (2-3% increase). Signs (coughing) in fattener pigs about 2 weeks ago, which are now almost back to normal. No pigs brought onto farm since 8 July 2009.

- Affected Population: Three weeks ago, 90 gilts and 55 boars from the same premises were moved to the current farm in this report for isolation. Gilts and boars were housed separately in different buildings. All animals were pre-export tested. 4 gilts gave positive test results, the remaining animals were negative. None of the pigs in isolation have shown any clinical signs.

- Outbreak 1 (Greenhill, notified on 18 September 2009): Closed unit. All animals leaving the unit go for slaughter. Only gilts are brought onto the unit. No known cases of human flu are currently associated with this outbreak. On 25 September 2009, medical investigations have found a possible source for the first pig herd notified and samples have been taken.
- Outbreak 2 (Cookstown, notified on 25 September 2009): No known cases of human flu in the farm workers, although the herd owner had flu symptoms around 14 September 2009. No tangible epidemiological links between the identified infected premises.
- Outbreak 3 (Bellaghy, notified on 25 September 2009): No known cases of human flu are currently associated with this outbreak. Workers are all family members or extended family members.
