277 deceased makes a nationwide death rate of 1.95, which is lower than the European average, currently seen at 2.16 death per million inhabitants
POPULATION: As of 1 January 2009 there were 141.904 million inhabitants in Russia
Russian Federation is subdivided into 7 federal okrugs (districts) and 83 subjects (which consists of republics, oblasts, krais (=Land) and some okrugs, as well as 2 cities - i.e. City of Moscow and City of St. Petersburg)
