The first case of pandemic influenza A(H1N1) in the Republic of Macedonia has been detected. The patient has been hospitalized at the Skopje-based Clinic for Infectious Diseases.
"The 33-year-old patient comes from Kocani and has been treated at the Intensive Care Unit for five days. There are signs of improvement and I believe the treatment will be successful", said Ilir Demiri, epidemiologist at the Clinic.
He confirmed there are no fatalities with confirmed A (H1N1) influenza.
