Frankfurt / Oder (ots) - Schwedt. A nine year-old girl from Schwedt (Uckermark) has died of the pork influenza. Confirmed Michaela Hofmann, public health officer of the Uckermark. The child had no preillnesses, reports the Oderzeitung of the Brandenburg March in her tomorrow's issue. The girl had been delivered on Monday one week ago with high fever and breath problems to the medical center Uckermark in Schwedt. On account of the gravity of the illness it was brought at night to Tuesday in the Berlin Charit? hospital where it died on Thursday. The lab confirmed that it concerns an infection with the Influenza virus A H1N1 (pork influenza). The best friend of the same age of the girl was likewise treated in the Schwedter hospital. With her the illness ran lightly, she could be already dismissed. It is the first pork influenza-death in Brandenburg, confirmed the Potsdam health ministry.
