  • Verona - Italy: new outbreak of avian flu in a farm with 800 thousand hens

A new outbreak of avian influenza has been discovered in the province of Verona, in a laying hen farm with 800 thousand specimens.

The news emerged today (20 January) during the meeting with regional poultry companies convened by Confagricoltura Veneto in the Padua headquarters in Albignasego, which was attended by over 250 farmers from all over the region with presences and online connections also from Lombardy. And precisely compared to Lombardy, the new outbreak gives Veneto a negative record: with 24 clusters recorded since October, the situation in Lombardy is surpassed, which is stuck at 23. A meeting will be called at the Ministry on Wednesday 22 January to talk about the vaccine that is being tested between Italy and Holland to limit the impact of the virus.
