Nov. 20 (Bloomberg) --
A fire broke out at a quarantine station at Berlin?s Tegel airport early today as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, a spokesman said.
The fire occurred at a rarely used, empty building ?several hundred? meters north of the airport?s main terminal, airport spokesman Ralf Kunkel said by phone.
No flights were cancelled and four flights were rerouted to the German capital?s Schoenefeld airport, the spokesman said.
The quarantine station is used for medical reasons such as suspected cases of bird flu, Kunkel said.
