TAAF: abnormal mortality of elephant seals observed on Possession Island
An abnormal mortality of elephant seals has been observed on the island of Possession, in the Crozet archipelago, in the TAAF. Initial analyses suggest possible contamination by a pathogen of influenza origin. Samples will be sent to Reunion Island before being sent to the ANSES national reference laboratory in Côtes d'Armor.
