On Tuesday March 29, a new outbreak of H5N1 was declared in a barnyard in Chédigny in Touraine. Thirty poultry and birds were slaughtered. A surveillance zone is set up within a radius of 10 km around in order to protect other farms.
While France is currently experiencing a serious avian influenza crisis , an outbreak of the H5N1 virus has just been declared in Indre-et-Loire. The fourth since February.
The prefecture announced that the samples taken from this private barnyard in Chédigny indicated that the disease was highly transmissible...
