Netherlands - New bird flu case reported in Zoeterwoude; Zuid-Holland province
Dutch authorities have reported a fresh outbreak of bird flu on a poultry farm in the west of the country, but could not say if it was the worrying new strain detected elsewhere in the Netherlands.
?Avian influenza has been detected on a poultry farm at Zoeterwoude, where some 28,000 birds are affected,? the economy ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
?The birds are infected with the H5 variant of the flu but it?s not yet known whether of the highly pathogenic variety or not,? it added.

Boven Leeuwen: On 20 December 2016, a 3-km surveillance and a 10-km protection zones have been established. In the 3-km zone there are nine other premises. All susceptible animals on the infected premises have been killed. All premises in the 3-km zone have been screened. All samples of the screened premises were tested negative. Stolwijk: On 22 December 2016, a 3-km surveillance and a 10-km protection zones have been established. In the 3-km zone there is one other premise. All susceptible animals on the infected premise have been killed. All premises in the 3-km zone have been screened. All samples of the screened premises were tested negative. Zoeterwoude: On 25 December 2016, a 3-km surveillance and a 10-km protection zones have been established. In the 3-km zone there are two other premises. All susceptible animals on the infected premises have been killed. All premises in the 3-km zone have been screened. All samples of the screened premises were tested negative.
