The Health Service Executive (HSE) has detected one imported case of a strain of mpox in an Irish resident who had recently returned to Ireland from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The individual is now receiving specialist care in a hospital in the east of the country. The HSE said the risk to the Irish public “remains low”.
This is the first detected case of clade I mpox in Ireland...
