First person who contracted West Nile fever in Czech Rep dies

The first person who demonstrably contracted the West Nile fever in the Czech Republic, not abroad, a woman, 72, has died, the commercial television station Nova said today. The woman also suffered from other serious chronic problems, it added. The information was confirmed by Deputy Health Minister Roman Prymula. Epidemiologists already discovered the virus in mosquitoes and horses in south Moravia in June.
