We told you about the latest last night, a student with active TB at a Grand Forks Elementary School.

As of now, six adults and two children under the age of 10 have been diagnosed with the disease. Health officials say they are related to three other cases confirmed in the county last month, and they don't expect it to be the last...

TB outbreak in ND linked to homeless visitors
More than 250 people have been tested since the first three cases of TB were identified last month in the homeless visitors.

Grand Forks, N.D. -- Health officials have linked an outbreak of tuberculosis in Grand Forks to homeless visitors who exposed a family who gave them shelter, and are continuing to test hundreds of people for the disease.

Officials have identified eight active cases of the treatable but potentially fatal infection, in six adults and two children. One of the children is 5 months old and the other is an elementary school student. The adults are in their 20s and 40s. Three of the eight have been hospitalized, Public Health Director Don Shields told the Grand Forks Herald (http://bit.ly/ZB37NA ).

Shields said the outbreak is traceable to a family that recently came to the community.

"They are not refugees and not an immigrant family," he said...

Two More Diagnosed With Tuberculosis
Two more children have been diagnosed with tuberculosis. Both live in the same household as a Phoenix Elementary student diagnosed last week.

A student at Valley Middle School in Grand Forks is infected with tuberculosis, bringing the total number of active cases in Grand Forks County to 13, the state Department of Health said Tuesday.

TB outbreak in N.D. still under investigation
Health officials continue to investigate the recent tuberculosis outbreak in Grand Forks, which has been associated with 16 cases of active TB. Thirteen of the cases dated from the end of September and early October, and the other three were cases from earlier in the year, said Dee Pritschet, a TB controller with the North Dakota Department of Health.

Grand Forks child diagnosed with TB
GRAND FORKS - A student at Winship Elementary School in Grand Forks has been diagnosed with tuberculosis, state and local officials said today. Officials say this new case is a child connected to the recent TB outbreak in Grand Forks, but the child did not contact TB while attending school.
