91 cases of tuberculosis detected in Nuevo Laredo this year

Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas .- A total of 91 new cases of tuberculosis were detected in this city this year, authorities reported the Health Department.
The head of the Department of Health Tuberculosis Center, Jos? Alberto Castillo Ramon Muniz, said efforts to counter this disease rates have increased, but mentioned that there is a greater number of floating population without medical facilities.
He said that there are activities ranging from field scanning for the detection of cases, to campaigns of training medical personnel in all health centers and individuals.
"It should be noted that Nuevo Laredo is a city with the highest floating population without medical facilities in most, but steadily reinforcing the TB programs," he stressed.
Cases of tuberculosis, according to sex, are a total of 69 men, whereas in females have been registered 22, all under treatment, he said.
He noted that the Health Center has achieved 90 percent recovery of all cases presented, therefore represents no major problem to achieve relief in each of the patients.
In the segment of the population where tuberculosis is classified, said that between five and nine years, only one case, one between 10 and 14 years old and six between 15 and 19.
