    ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Health officials and managers at the Sheraton Atlanta in downtown said they are working hard to find the source after confirmed cases of legionnaires' disease. The cases have prompted a voluntary shut down of the hotel.

    The Georgia Department of Public Health released the following statement Monday:

    ?Late this afternoon the Sheraton Atlanta voluntarily decided to temporarily close until the source of the Legionella is located and remediation is complete. Questions about their decision to close and relocation of guests should be directed to the Sheraton Atlanta.?...

    Health officials confirmed the five cases but stressed that while each patient stayed at Sheraton Atlanta hotel, they do not yet have evidence directly linking the hotel as the source...

      ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Health officials said another case of Legionnaires' disease has been diagnosed in a person who recently stayed at a downtown Atlanta hotel.

      As of Wednesday, six people have confirmed cases of Legionnaires' disease, health officials said. The common link is they stayed at the Sheraton Atlanta, officials said.

      Tests still have not come back from the hotel giving any positive indication the bacteria is present there, but hotel management was not taking any chances Monday when the first three cases came to light. They swiftly closed their doors, relocated 450 guests, and worked to rebook some upcoming reservations...

          ATLANTA - Authorities now say there are 11 lab-confirmed cases of Legionnaires? disease and 55 probably cases of Legionnaires? disease related to the outbreak at the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel.

          According to the Georgia Department of Public Health and the Fulton County Board of Health, there are no reported deaths due to Legionnaires? disease among hotel guests.

          Probably causes are people who had illness consistent with Legionnaires? disease, including pneumonia diagnosed by a clinician or chest X-ray, but without laboratory confirmation...

                An outbreak of Legionnaires? disease linked to an Atlanta hotel is now considered to be the largest ever recorded in Georgia, a state health official told Fox News.

                Nancy Nydam, director of communications at the Georgia Department of Public Health, said Monday that the outbreak at the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel ?is the largest recorded Legionella outbreak in Georgia.?

                  ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Health officials said they now know the source of a deadly Legionnaires' disease outbreak at a downtown Atlanta hotel.

                  Health officials announced Thursday afternoon the cooling tower and a decorative fountain in the atrium of the Sheraton Atlanta both tested positive for the presence of Legionella bacteria.

                  The hotel has been closed since July 14, when the first cases were confirmed. Since then, hotel management has done extensive remediation to the entire water distribution system including those two areas.

                  Health officials said the hotel is good to reopen following Thursday?s inspect, but they will continue to monitor.

                  According to state health officials, 13 lab-confirmed cases of Legionnaires? disease, including one death have been linked to the hotel as 66 probable cases...
