    Shingellosis infection spreads among homeless people in SF

    Shingellosis infection is now becoming alarming as more and more people are diagnosed with the disease. According to health experts, 2014 was indeed a busy year for the health department as it continuously fight diseases such as Ebola, flu and the enterovirus infection.

    Shingellosis causes severe diarrhea. It is caused by Shigella dysenteriae that affects the intestines. When the condition is severe, it can cause abdominal cramps, nausea and vomiting. Sometimes, it can also cause fever.

    Shingellosis cases has been in the rise these past few weeks especially in the San Francisco area. According to the San Francisco Department of Public Health, there have been 65 cases reported already between December 1 and December 23...
