    HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) ? A central Pennsylvania child has died of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, an illness carried by dog ticks but rarely found in Pennsylvania.
    Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick tells Pennlive (http://bit.ly/1qlyMCu ) it's the first case he's seen since taking office nearly 25 years ago.

    The young child lived in the Harrisburg area. The child's name was not released.

    HARRISBURG, Pa. -- A 3-year-old Cumberland County girl died at Penn State Hershey on Aug 17 from presumed Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, according to the coroner's office. Dauphin County coroner says the cause of death was septic shock from multiple organ failure due to the presumed Rocky Mountain Fever.

    The Dauphin County coroner's office add the 3-year-old girl was from Camp Hill and had not traveled out of the area. She did have a tick bite.
