JOHNSON CITY ? A dining services employee at East Tennessee State University has been hospitalized with possible meningitis, the university announced this morning.

The employee was not involved in any food preparation or service and is not an ETSU student, according to a written statement...

JOHNSON CITY ? The dining services employee at East Tennessee State University diagnosed last week with bacterial meningitis has been released from the hospital, according to a statement from the university. The employee is expected to be cleared to return to work sometime in February.

On Jan. 16, a group of 10 employees who were in contact with the individual days earlier were screened by ETSU university health services and all were determined to be at low risk. None of those employees have since developed any related symptoms...
