A 62-year-old Copenhagen man has died from contact with sewage in the aftermath of this month?s flooding.
The man contracted leptospirosis - also known as Weil?s disease - while cleaning out his basement following the record-breaking rainfall of July 2, Statens Serum Institut (SSI) reports. One other man in the Copenhagen area has been infected with the disease. Both had been cleaning their flood-ravaged basements.
