Health Minister, professor Ferruccio Fazio, about the sequestration of around 70,000 'blue mozzarellas' from Germany, makes this statement: the EU Rapid Alert System has been activated and a report to European Commission and German Authorities has been sent concerning the tainted food.
Regional Authorities have been also informed, in the areas where the tainted mozzarella from the German dairy farm may have been delivered.
The Minister would also express its appreciation to the prompt intervention by Carabinieri and NAS Unit attesting the Italian health system rapid reaction in protecting consumer safety.
