The global incidence of dengue has increased considerably over the last two decades both globally and in the Region of the Americas, where 80% of cases worldwide are recorded.

In Guatemala, until epidemiological week 7 of 2024, it stands out that until February 17, 6,760 cases of dengue were registered. Of this total, 31 cases of severe dengue are reported, of which there are 3 deaths. On the other hand, 2 cases of chikungunya and 1 of Zika are reported.
