    The dengue hospitalisations in Bangladesh has surpassed 100,000 this year, with 141 new cases and three more deaths in a day over the past 24 hours.

    The number of patients in hospital with the disease across the country has risen to 100,029.

    The total number of fatalities from the illness now stands at 561.​..

      ​One more death was reported from dengue in 24 hours till this morning (30 December), raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 573 this year.

      The death has been reported in the Barishal division, outside the city corporations, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

      During the period, 114 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, it added.

      Of them, 18 dengue patients were admitted in hospital under Dhaka North City Corporation while 21 were hospitalised in Dhaka South City Corporation.

      Currently, 655 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals across the country.

      Since 1 January 2024, a total of 101,130 dengue cases have been reported...
