Rebound in dengue cases in Paraguay
Health authorities in Paraguay reported that dengue notifications increased in twelve regions of the country, mainly in Asunción and Central. Caaguazú, Caazapá, Cordillera and Canindeyú also reported an increase in notifications, as did Amambay, Itapúa, Misiones, Ñeembucú, Presidente Hayes and Upper Paraguay.
Increase in notifications was also recorded in Caaguazú, Caazapá, Cordillera and Canindeyú, as well as Amambay, Itapúa, Misiones, Ñeembucú, Presidente Hayes and Upper Paraguay.
In the past three weeks, 116 dengue cases were registered, concentrated at 68% in Central, Itapúa, Asunción and Paraguarí.
Several regions of the country present dengue cases, with the exception of Ñeembucú, Misiones, Alto Paraná and Guairá.
Serotypes DEN-1 and DEN-2 circulate in the country, with a slight predominance of DEN-2 corresponding to 55 % of the processed samples.
