Cholera sweeps over Kenyan refugee camps killing 12 people
At least 12 Somali refugees have died and more than 1,500 fallen sick with cholera at the world's largest refugee camp complex Dadaab in east Kenya over the past two weeks, the UN said on Monday.

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said that together with other aid workers, it was working to stop the spread of the outbreak by setting up four cholera treatment centres with more than 200 beds to respond to the outbreak.
As of Jan. 31, the outbreak has affected over 1,535 people and resulted in the loss of life for 12 refugees,? UNHCR said in its Bi-weekly report released in Nairobi on Monday...

The number of deaths following a fresh cholera outbreak in the border of Ugunja and Alego/Usonga constituencies in Siaya County has risen to two.
According to Ugunja sub-county Medical Officer of Health Dr. Bernard Onguche, a second cholera victim passed on at Rang?ala Mission Hospital just a day after the first death at Ambira sub-county hospital on Sunday night.
Dr. Onguche said that they have received at least 21 cholera cases at various health facilities within the constituency including Ambira, Rang?ala and St. Paul?s Mission hospitals...

Anxiety has gripped one of the largest informal estates in Naivasha after a cholera outbreak which has left five people admitted in Naivasha sub-county hospital.
The five from Kihoto estate include two minors and doctors have termed their condition as stable adding that they are under observation.
