MIGORI, Kenya, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- A suspected cholera outbreak in Western Kenya has left at least seven people dead and 80 in critical condition, a medical official confirmed Tuesday.

Migori County Health Director Joseph Gondi said three victims died at a sub-district hospital and four others died at home while waiting to be taken to hospital...

Kenya: Four Dead, 37 in Hospital Over Kibera Cholera

FOUR people from Kibera slum have died following a cholera outbreak. They died at Mbagathi District Hospital on Tuesday.

The hospital's chief executive officer, Andrew Suleh, said 37 patients, including children, are admitted at the hospital.

Dozens of Dead Due to Cholera Outbreak in Kenya

Kenya: Cholera Death Toll Has Hit 50, Says Health CS

THE government is struggling to contain the spiralling cholera outbreak, which has so far killed about 50 in four months.

The Health ministry says 10 counties have been hit by the killer disease, with about 2,520 cases being reported.

"As of May 11, 2,520 cases and 50 deaths had been reported nationally," Health Cabinet Secretary James Macharia said in a statement yesterday.

The Ministry report indicates that the counties with the highest death tolls are Nakuru (14), Migori (12) and Nairobi (11)...

Kenya confirms 65 deaths from cholera outbreak

NAIROBI, May 19 (Xinhua) -- The death toll from cholera outbreak in Kenya has risen to 65, with at least 3,234 cases reported across the country, authorities said Tuesday.

"Cumulatively 326 new cases were reported in the last one week. This is an increase from the previous week where 226 new cases were reported," Cabinet Secretary for Health James Macharia said in a statement released in Nairobi...

Kenya: Two Inmates Die of Cholera At Shimo La Tewa

Nairobi ? The death toll from a cholera in several parts of the country has risen to 65, after at least two inmates died at the Shimo la Tewa Maximum Prison on Wednesday.

At least 10 die in W Kenya as cholera outbreak continues

KISUMU, Kenya, June 9 (Xinhua) -- At least 10 people died of cholera and 134 others hospitalized in Kenya's western county of Homa Bay on Tuesday, as the outbreak of the disease continues in the East African nation.

County Director of Medical Services, Gerald Akeche, said the victims, among whom are women and children, have been admitted in local health facilities.
