Thirty one cases of cholera deaths were reported since last week in several localities on Lake Albert in the area of health Tchomia in Ituri (Orientale Province). Friday 7 September, the chief physician of the health area, Dr. Herv? Bavi, said fear a rapid spread of the epidemic because of poor sanitary conditions in the environment and the lack of drugs for the treatment of patients .
These include cases of cholera reported Nyamamba, Jo, Gbi ety Kasenyi. Dr. Herv? Bavi binds the resurgence of the epidemic in the recent floods in several rivers including Lake Albert flooded some areas and sanitary facilities destroyed several houses.
