    Three new cases of measles have been confirmed in Florida, including one each in Hillsborough and Manatee counties, state data shows.

    The Hillsborough case was in a person aged between 20 and 24 who was infected by the highly contagious disease in Florida this month, a Florida Department of Health database for infectious and reportable diseases shows.

    The Manatee case was acquired outside the United States. It’s not known if they are connected or if any of those infected are higher-education students.​

    The third reported case was in St. Johns County. None of the three cases are in children...

          Health officials have confirmed a measles outbreak of at least 20 cases at Florida’s Ave Maria University, 85 miles northwest of Miami.

          The first cases were confirmed on Thursday, the college said, adding that most of its students and staff are unlikely to get measles due to previous measles infections or because they were immunized by the full dosage of the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine.

          The Mater Dei Clinic, also located in the town of Ave Maria, told the Naples Daily News that as of Wednesday, measles were contained beyond the 20. The clinic also said it had 14 more measles tests with pending results.​..

              New case of measles reported at school in St. Petersburg

              SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - New cases of measles are being reported across Florida, one of the latest at a Catholic high school in St. Petersburg.

              In a Feb. 4 letter to parents, the administration of St. Petersburg Catholic High School confirmed that a sophomore student has a confirmed case of measles.

              “The student in question has not been present at school since January 27th and we are unaware of any additional cases at this time,” the letter said.

              The school said it is working with the Florida Department of Health to ensure the safety of students and staff.​..

                AVE MARIA, Fla. — According to Ave Maria University, 53 students have had measles since the semester started.

                Of those 53 students, the university said five students developed rashes since Friday afternoon and are being quarantined on campus. According to Florida Department of Health guidance, measles patients are contagious for four days before a rash appears and four days after it begins.

                The 48 students who were looked at by nurses have moved beyond the contagious period and now have natural immunity to measles, the university said. The university has received 18 negative test results, while some results remain pending.​..

                  AVE MARIA, Fla.—Now 57 cases of Measles have been reported at Ave Maria University, seven of which are contagious, according to the school's latest update.

                  Per their Wednesday, February 11, 9 a.m. update, Ave Maria University nurses have assessed seven students who’ve presented rashes, bringing the total number of cases to 57.

                  Since the beginning of the semester, 50 nurse-assessed students have progressed beyond the contagious period and now have natural immunity. Note that only five students have been quarantined and are following the 4-day contagious period since their rashes were reported.

                  The Department of Health is set to release an updated lab diagnostic test case numbers on its website on Thursday, and Ave Maria University will provide regular updates as they occur.​..

                    The Florida Department of Health has finally confirmed Escambia County's first measles cases in at least three decades.

                    The first reported measles case in Escambia County came to light after Pensacola-area health care providers began warning patients about it on Feb. 3. The state health department has now confirmed three measles cases in Escambia County.

                    The timing of these cases coincides with a measles outbreak at Ave Maria University in Collier County. Fifty students tested positive for measles there, and seven more are still within the four-day contagious period, according to the latest update from the university.​

                    Florida's total number of measles cases is now 68. While Collier County accounts for than 67%, cases have been reported throughout the state. Duval County has the second-highest number of cases at eight, while Escambia and Manatee counties are tied for third with three cases each...

                        Measles exposure confirmed at Naples Classical Academy; 92 cases statewide

                        Naples Classical Academy confirmed a measles exposure on its campus after a visitor tested positive.

                        The Florida Department of Health notified the school of the case and has been in daily communication with administrators, Head of School Christopher Wester said. Health officials verified that the individual was on campus for less than three hours on Feb. 10. As a precaution, the academy has canceled all public events through March 3.

                        The Naples exposure comes amid heightened concern about measles in the region, including 66 reported cases at Ave Maria University and one case in Lee County.

                        Overall, in Florida, as of Feb. 14, there have been 92 cases of measles reported, according to the state Department of Health reportable diseases frequency report database.​..

                          Collier County is now up to 83 cases of measles since an outbreak began in late January on the campus of Ave Maria University.

                          Statewide there have been 114 cases of the highly infectious disease since the start of 2026.

                          The numbers are the latest weekly update as of Feb. 26 on the state Department of Health’s reportable disease website. The data lags a week and covers through Feb. 21.

                            Eight more measles cases have been reported in Florida, according to the latest numbers from the Florida Department of Health, bringing this year's total of reported cases to 132.

                            Most of the now 98 reported cases in Collier are victims between the ages of 15 to 24, according to FDOH data, although one of the new cases was a victim between the ages of 10 to 14. An outbreak has been sweeping through the campus of Ave Maria University, a small Catholic school with roughly 1,400 students, since late January.

                            The other three new cases were reported in Osceola, Pasco and Pinellas counties. All of them were older than 20 years old, the FDOH said. (Scroll down for the county-by-county breakdown.)

                            The numbers are the latest weekly update as of March 12 on the state Department of Health’s reportable disease website. The data lags a week and covers reports through March 7.

                              Florida health officials report another seven measles cases

                              ​The number of measles cases in Florida climbed to 140 as of March 14, with seven additional cases disclosed to the Florida Department of Health in the last reporting week.

                              Six of the new cases are in Collier County, in people between the ages of 15 and 19. The seventh case involves a Broward County child under age four, DOH data show. Including the additional seven cases, there have been 16 reported measles infections through March 14, the latest available data.

                              The 140 measles infections run the gamut age-wise, with reported cases in the birth-to-four age cohort up through the 60-64 demographic. The 15-19 age group saw the most reported infections with 59 cases, followed by 20-24 year olds with 45 cases.​..
